a. Zenvo ST1 – Price TBA but look for seven figures
i. Denmark designed and built; we are all familiar with Danish design- Lego, Bang & Olufsen, Louis Vuitton, but Zenvo?
ii. Two door powered by a 7.0-litre twin-turbocharged and supercharged V8 that produces 1,105 horsepower but with three power settings- 650hp for grocery store jaunts, 850hp to impress the ladies, and 1105hp to pee your pants.
iii. 0-60 in just 3.0 seconds and has a top speed that is electronically limited to 233mph. At that speed, technically it could drive through Denmark in an hour.
iv. Zenvo will produce just 15 units, ensuring it remains a rare exotic. You must be approved to buy one.
v. Cool fact – comes with a fitted luggage set
vi. Another cool fact – ST1 designer Christian Brandt said the car’s looks are inspired by “predators sitting in the grass waiting to attack their prey.”
b. HTT (Locus) Pléthore LC750 – roughly $360,000+
i. A Canadian supercar, eh?
ii. Supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that makes 750-hp also known as the Corvette ZR1 LS9 engine; plans to add two turbos will push power to 1,300hp!
iii. Three-seat cockpit with the driver situated in the middle of the car, just ahead of two passenger seats that flank the driver’s chair on each side.
iv. Both the chassis and the body are made entirely of carbon fiber, allowing the car to weigh just 2,400 lbs; also has an FIA certified roll cage.
v. Nicknamed the “Quebec Bomb”
vi. Designed by Luc Chartrand who is an electrician by trade. Chartrand founded a sports car company 11 years ago to fulfill his dreams of building the ultimate car. His experience as a stock car and kart racer helps with his inspiration.
vii. Almost pre-sold all of the first year’s production, due to be delivered in Fall 2010
c. Runners up:
i. Lotec Sirius (Germany). Located behind its cabin is a six-litre, twin-turbocharged Mercedes-Benz V12 that has been tuned to produce up to 1,200 horsepower. Its top speed is estimated to be 250mph.
ii. Bristol Fighter T (British). It has a twin turbocharged 8L V10 all-aluminum engine making 1012 hp and 0-60 in 2.5 seconds with a coefficient of drag just 0.25, resulting in a potential maximum speed of more than 270 mph though the Bristol Fighter T has been electronically limited to a 225 mph.
